CEO Jung first encountered the knife business when he found a job at a knife factory in order to support his family, which struggled financially at the time. He was fascinated by how knives were produced, and even discovered a talent for making them. In less than one year after starting his job at the knife factory, he was promoted to a managerial position. After mastering the knife manufacturing process over a period of 14 years, he decided to found his own firm, YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD.
In recognition of his creativity and the outstanding quality and artistic value of his products, CEO Jung was designated as Knife Master No. 1 in 2013 by the Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations of Korea.
Reputation of Rose Knives Damaged by Counterfeit Products
'Rose Knives,' which used to be extremely popular on home shopping channels, were created by YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD. Their original name was "Rose Angel," based on the rose prints on the products intended to soften the cold and intimidating image of knives. CEO Jung states that "The knifes looked overtly sharp. We chose rose patterns because we wanted to appeal to female consumers by softening the cold image of knives without compromising their sharpness."
Rose Knives were noted for their superb quality. YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD. dedicated three years to developing printing machines so that the patterns on its knives would cause zero harm to consumers' health. The knives had serrated edges which easily cut the products and did not require sharpening often.
However, YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD. encountered difficulties because of poor-quality Chinese counterfeit products. As a result, demand for YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD.'s products gradually fell. CEO Jung Jae-seo says that he learned a good lesson from that, as it motivated him "to develop products that cannot be imitated technologically and to acquire patents."
After Service for Knives
CEO Jung never breaks his business rule: provide after service to customers for as long as the company exists. ¡°Even the best knives in the world inevitably become blunt with time. We provide after services to our customers regardless of when they purchased our products to make sure that they can enjoy cooking with them."
YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD. also provides free after service for other products that it manufactures through OEM, such as Lock & Lock, Kitchen Art and Happy Call. Consumers only have to pay for delivery services.
Soon to Release Innovative Products

CEO Jung states that "the priority is to produce knives that can be used for a long time." After three years of research, YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD. developed the X-Knife using diamond cutting technology and the company's unique dual heat treatment technology, which enhances the solidity of the product. This product will soon go on sale at the Lotte Department Store in Hanoi.
YOUNGSHIN KAL STORY CO., LTD.'s products are sold not only in Korea, but also in Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore. CEO Jung Jae-seo says that he will "continue to develop more attractive designs for his products to make them not only sharp but beautiful as well."
